  1.    Corona effect

  2.    Slide valve contacted the rotors

    The oil below the silde valve  has created a gas lift, which forced the slide valve to wards the rotors. Check the temperatures of discharge side in combination with the used refrigerant and oil.                                                                                       

                                                                           

       Seal damage

    Damage on the shaft seal due to dry running so called blistering. More indication of similar effects by the shaft seal area:  black oil residue, deformed elastomers and extreme wear on the running surfaces.                                                                         

                                                                                                


  3.    Bearing damage

    Difference wear on the big end bearings at the similar conditions. Eliminate the degassing process by re-adjusting conditions: check the   temperature, ambient effects and the oil- and refrigerant characteristics

                                                             

       Rotor damage

    Rotor damage by entry of liquid at the suction side: control the overheating of the sucton gass.                                                                                                                                                                              

     

  4. Suction filter side of a screw compressor with solid oil

    A chemical reaction has taken place. Check the combination of oil, working conditions in combination with the refrigerant.                                                                                                                                                                                       

                 

       Melted con rod

    consult 2The con rod was melted due to accumulating of heat during degassing of oil. Eliminate the degassing process by re-adjusting conditions:  check the temperature, ambient effects and the oil- and refrigerant characteristics.
